Live Writer and WordPress Tags

    Question

  • I have two different WordPress blogs, both running the same version of WordPress and from what I can tell both are configured the same.  However when I setup LiveWriter against one of the blogs I see the "Set Tags" field at the bottom (right next to Set categories) but in the other I get no field for tags.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks,

    Ross

  • Have you checked your account settings on Windows Live Writer?

    or

Have you tried removing and recreating the blog account in Windows Live Writer, and making sure it's set to 'Wordpress'?

    Just trying to help...

  • Yup, have done both.  I'm pretty sure the setting is in WordPress as one blog works great and the other doesn't but I can't find where the setting is.  Any ideas there?

    Thanks,

  • My finger would be pointing at the XML configuration files that Windows Live Writer uses; when they get corrupted, weird things happen.

I think referencing one of the developers is going to be your ticket.

You can email your LOG file to wlw-team@microsoft.com?

You can find your LOG file by opening up Writer, going to Help > About Windows Live Writer and then clicking the "Show log file" link in the About dialog.

    Hope this helps.
