75% loss of traffic after site redesign

  We redesigned the site mid-December, switching around December 9th, and now we are facing a heavy traffic loss.  Prior to site change, we were receiving 3000 unique visits per day from MSN/Live Search, now it is down to 100 on articleinsider.com.
  
  What are reasons that could lead to this?, and what steps, in order of importance, should we take to correct this problem, and get back to the traffic we were receiving from MSN/Live?
  
  We went from a custom-built CMS to the Drupal platform, and noticed an immediate drop in traffic, and then several days later, a further drop in traffic, where it has been since.
