I have a problem with no audio in Window's Live Movie Maker and despite trying numerous fixes I still cannot get it to work. If I import an .AVI file the Video plays fine but no sound. If I play the same .AVI in Windows Media Player both
the sound and video work fine. Next I tried to add an audio track (.MP3 and .WAV) to a video and again I cannot get any sound. Again the same audio files play without issue in Media Player. I checked and tried the following things and nothing has
solved the problem:
- Checked the laptop sound is not muted
- Checked the application specific volume is switched up
- Checked the balance between audio and video is set to halfway
- Checked that the audio track is showing in the timeline correctly
- Tried removing all CODECs and reinstalling
- Tried completely reinstalling Windows Live
- Tried running application repair
If I convert .AVI file to .WMV then the audio does start to work. However, I still cannot seem to add any audio tracks (.WAV or .MP3) over it.
Does anyone have any ideas please? I'm running Windows 7 / Windows Live Movie Maker 2011 (15.4.3508.1109)
Thanks
