Discover Xbox with the DIAL protocol?

Question
-
I'm using the DIAL (DIscovery And Launch) command line client as supplied by the creators of DIAL (https://github.com/Netflix/dial-reference).
I have an xbox one in dev mode and an ubuntu client. When I send the multicast for discovery, however, it reports "No servers available". I can successfully ping the xbox and both machines are on the same subnet. The only other DIAL related thread I can find is this one (https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/db05c44c-e2d5-4a5a-bc8c-51b8d08133b4/uwpxboxdial-protocol-support-for-xbox-one-windows10-app?forum=wpdevelop), but it doesn't help my situation.
Does anyone know where I'm going wrong? (I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong place, I just posted where the other DIAL post was)

Hi NotOnFire,
The Developing Universal Windows apps forum is for discussion of writing Universal Windows apps, not about XBox in general. .
These pages direct developers to Developing Universal Windows apps forums.
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/uwp/xbox-apps/known-issues?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
The general Xbox forums are here but looks more towards consumer / end user.

Hi NotOnFire
DIAL protocol is not yet supported on Xbox. The following page calls out all the known APIs that are not yet supported:

Thanks

Hi NotOnFire,
The Developing Universal Windows apps forum is for discussion of writing Universal Windows apps, not about XBox in general. The previous thread you linked was specifically about writing a UWP app to run on the XBox. I'm not sure where would be an appropriate place for your question, especially since it sounds like you're not actually developing for XBox but looking for protocol information for calling it externally.
