Switching external drive from esata to usb RRS feed

  • (yes, this is related to the thread I just posted, but figured it was worth asking as a standalone question)

An external drive I'm using supports eSata, USB and Firewire interfaces.  I'm currently using eSata, but am having some problems.  Can I switch to USB without "readding" (ie, formatting) the drive?

  • Yes. Windows Home Server writes an identifier to the drive, so it will be recognized however it's connected.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
