Number to contacts lookup does not work RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I recall during the OCS ignite lab, that whenever I keyed in an extension for eg."1234" in the search box, the Commuicator client was able to resolve it to a contact and display it. After normalization it became something like +14255551234. So in a way I knew who that extension belonged to.

However now when I am building a new OCS machine from scratch I cannot get the communicator client to behave the same way, all i see is just the normalized number appearing under 'Recent Contacts'. The call however still works perfectly and the incoming call prompt also does reverse number lookup perfectly, in a sense I can see who is calling me instead of just the source number.

Any help will be great in solving this issue.

  • Have you specifically defined translation rules to normalize down to 4-digit extensions in either the EV rules config or the ABS rules text file?
