Live OneCare up-date anomaly. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Last night, Live OneCare (LOC) requested I download an up-date.  After the up-date was finished, the LOC icon turned red and displayed the "OneCare needs attention" warning.

I went to LOC and after it FINALLY loaded up, the "attention" was that the LOC firewall was turned off.

Each time I tried to turn the firewall on the program quit responding.  In the course of trying to get an answer I was informed that (either by my computer or Microsoft/Windows) LOC was not installed.

I un-installed LOC and reinstalled.  Up until an hour ago LOC thought I was running the software on a second computer.  Now the screen with the Quick Links is only showing my computer.

    Any idea what un-installed LOC?

  • I think you simply had a bad update experience and OneCare "broke." It sounds like you uninstalled manually and then installed and activated once again. Is it in green status and running without errors? Then you should be good to go. If  not, please contact support.
