Hi Brandon B.,
In your Diagnostic Report it shows the error code "Online Validation Code: 0x80070426". This means that the Software Licensing Service has stopped. Vista uses this service to check itself and confirm it is Genuine. When the servise is stopped, Vista trows errors. There is no indication why the service has stopped.
If the below steps do not resolve your issue, please create a (no cost) support request at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52029 and they will provide additional help in starting the service. (Make sure to tell them what we have already had you try)
If you have acces to the Start button:
1) Click the Start button
2) Type: cmd in the Start Search field
3) At the top the Start window, you will see cmd.exe
4) Right Click cmd.exe and select Run as Administrator
5) Type: net start slsvc
If you do not have access to the Start button:
1) Click the option Access computer with reduced functionality
2) A Browser will open, type: %windir%\system32 into the address field
3) Find the file cmd.exe
4) Right Click on the cmd.exe and select Run as Administrator
5) Type: net start slsvc
Thank you,

I had a similar problem in which I was told I had a beta version of Vista Ultimate and it was not supported. I was fairly sure this was not true as I bought from a well known dealer of hardware and software in Houston so I went to the MS re-validation screen and re-validated the system. So far it seems to work OK.
Anything I need to anticipate?
I really like Vista Ultimate. Having worked with various OS's [UNIX, and all versions of WINDOWS], since the mid 1960's I appreciate not having to write code any more [machine code really was a ***!] and the vast number of excellent technical programs available today makes me [almost] want to start all over.
Thanks Bill!.
