- type "slui 4" in the start menu search box, hit enter
- select country or region
- dial the number, DO NOT select any menu options, just wait and a person will pick up.
- activate by phone, insure you tell them that you have the 3 license family pack, they will ask how many PC's it is installed on.
Try activating by phone using the above steps, let us know if it works. After activating go to www.microsoft.com/genuine and see if you pass validation.
You are using a COA SLP key that must be activated by phone, sounds like the bios update caused a problem with your previous activation but reactivating should fix it along with running the validation.- Marked as answer by Darin Smith MS Monday, June 14, 2010 5:40 PM

just had to do this after updating Bios.... It worked but it's Crazy? You would think that after so much technology windows would understand people have to update bios from time to time, especially on the newer mother boards with more features which start out kinda buggy? I know they are trying to protect their product, but to reactivate after just a bios update????? It's not like I put in a new Mother Board? Get with the Program Windows, Your better than this!Tuesday, October 9, 2012 4:39 PM

The problem here lies not with MS, but with the OEM - They seem to have released a BIOS update that either damaged or over-wrote the BIOS SLIC table, which therefore broke self-activation.
