MPCluster v2.0 Released RRS feed

  • MPCluster v2.0 has been released!

MPCluster is our cluster analysis add-in for Microsoft MapPoint. It is used to find natural clusters in your pushpin (or other MapPoint dataset) data.

v2.0 adds a number of new options including the ability to write the cluster run parameters to Excel and more management options, but the biggest improvement is internal. The addition of multi-threading means MPCluster v2.0 can take advantage of modern multi-core PCs for greatly enhanced processing.

Licenses cost US$100 (free for existing users), and there is a free 14 day trial.

Further details, documentation, samples, and downloads can be found on the MPCluster website at:

Minimum requirements: .NET Framework 4.0; MapPoint 2006; Excel 2003.

In other news, MPMileage v2 continues to be in beta testing. This is a batch mileage computation tool which works on point-to-point routes listed in a database. v2 adds support for geocoding addresses and using coordinates directly from the database, plus efficiency improvements. I am giving free licenses in return for constructive beta testing. Let me know if you are interested.

  • v2.4 has just been released.

There have been a number of feature additions since v2.0.

v2.4 specifically adds the ability to show/hide the shapes for individual cluster runs (so improving map clarity), and adds the ability to export a list of unallocated pushpins when export pushpin allocations to Microsoft Excel.

Further details and a free 14 day trial can be found at:  http://www.mpcluster.com

  • ...and v2.5 has just been released!

v2.5 adds more information to the cluster centroid pushpin, and the output summary worksheet now lists unallocated pushpins.
