Two months after install, suddenly 'Not Genuine'

I had to get a new hard drive for my laptop and ran into the problem of not having a windows disk. I burned a cd from a download of the right windows 7 version from this site, booted my laptop up with the product key on the sticker on its underside and everything was just fine until a few weeks ago. Now I have a black screen with the message "Windows 7, Build 7601, This copy of Windows is not genuine". A little alert keeps popping up every once in a while as well and when I try to use my product key again it says it is not valid. Is there anything I can do about this?
