Support will not recognise my windows 7 product ID RRS feed

  • I am trying to get support for my Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit OS from Microsoft.  When I enter the Product Key as requested, the form responds that the key is either invalid or not formatted correctly and I must provide my credit information before I can go any farther.  This is a genuine "Signature Edition" that I received From Microsoft.  It is a genuine copy of Windows 7.  The product ID is all numbers with no letters, like this:  12345-678-9101112-13141; NOT like this:  12345-xxx-6789101-11213.  Does MS use a different format for the signature version product ID and does that mean I cannot ask for free support?  I'm just trying to resolve an installation issue that I can't find at the support sites and find that the support wizard doesn't accept the PID Microsoft provided.  I can't even enter chat, much less make a phone call to support because the PID isn't in the "proper format" or something.
