  •

My account expires in 3 months and it is set to automatically take a payment from my credit card and renew my subscription. I can not figure out whee to go, what to do or who to talk to to so I can change it. I do not want Windows live one care to take money off my credit card automatically. Can somebody help me?

  • When you purchased your subscription with a credit card, you agreed to the automatic renewal process. You might be able to invalidate your credit card in the Billing profile at http://billing.microsoft.com - signing in with your subscription LiveID, though I'm not sure if it validates the information before saving it.

You can do one of two other things.

    1. Renew at any time before the expiration date using a retail box copy key/PIN - How to Renew a Subscription to Windows Live OneCare  - which will add 12 months to your existing subscription. Your credit card will not be charged.

    2. Shortly before expiration - don't call too early as they *will* cancel immediately - contact support to cancel the account. Then, assuming you want to use OneCare, use a retail copy to activate with a *different* LiveID.
