    Hi folks, I know this has been covered in the past but looking for an update.

    Is there a way, or a way planned, to allow backups of the backup database?  I've seen in the technical brief how to do it manually, and I'm aware of the backup database-backup BDBB add-in... but I'm wondering if there's going to be an easy way to back up all my shares and the backup db to a single drive through the WHS interface.

    MS has not announced any changes.  The 2 options you mentioned are currently the only ways available.

    Fair enough...

    Is it safe to manually copy the data to an external drive that is already being used to back up shared folders?  Perhaps in a separate directory?

    Yes. It will take quite a bit of space up, however.
    I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
