  • Question

  • Ok, I may have unkowingly purchased an invalid or stolen copy of Microsoft Office Professional 2007 Plus. I ordered this off of the internet and all feedback I saw listed for this site was positive and the price was in line with other resellers. I have run the Genuine Advantage Diagonstics which passes all tests. The Genuine Advantage still fails. I have run the Genuine Advantage Diagnostics Installation wizard twice with the same result. When I ordered the software, there was no indication that the software supplier was in China, but the packing that the software arrived in was identified as being sent from China as well as having some Chinese showing up during the installation.

What can I do about this now? I am unsure I'll be able to send the product back to China.

After going through the steps for Sumitting a Qualifying Counterfeit Report, the program will not complete and returns an error indicating an ActiveX control is not set up properly or configured properly for my system.

  • Hello Spock56,

If one of the links took you to there, I assume it opened a Browser?

The reason I am asking these questions is that the only ActiveX control that I am aware of (and the only one I support) is the one that is installed when you attemp to Validate (by clicking the Validate Office/Validate Windows buttons at http://microsoft.com/genuine or by clicking the Start Diagnostic button at http://microsoft.com/genuine/diag)

So, if you are refering to the Validation ActiveX controls, I need to know where it is attempting to install from.  But if it's not the Validation ActiveX control (possibly some sort of ActiveX to allow you to upload the Report or to gather information from the non-genuine computer or something else) then you would need to contact the group that controls that ActiveX, there should be a Contact Us link on the page that should contact that group.

Lastly, you could also submit a Piracy Report at http://microsoft.com/piracy

    Thank you,
    Darin MS

  • Hello Spock56,

Where are you submitting the Counterfit Report?  On a webpage?, if so what URL?

    Thank you,
