PBX Integration - What this means? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I was wordering about the funtionality of PBX Integration, cause here in my company we have the Enterprise voice without PBX integration enable and using CCM 5.2 SIP Trunk. Actualy we have 2 extentions, one for CCM and anotherone for OCS. My question is, when I have to enable this option (PBX integration)? Is that when I have the same extention in OCS and CCM?

  • Hi,

"PBX integration" means that you are doing Remote Call Control or call forking. You need to have a CSTA gateway on your PBX side. In your case, this means you need Cisco Unified Presence Server (CUPS). Without CUPS you will not be able to do the "PBX Integration".

And, yes, you are correct: with the PBX Integration, you have the same ext. in OCS as CCM.
