Valid Windows 7?

Question
-
The computer was bought in S. Korea. Maybe by my father-in-law's former employer. MS says the product key is not valid - at least the one that I type in from the control panel that appears - it starts with numbers. Anyway ...
Thank you for any help.

This is the default Windows 7 Ultimate product key Microsoft uses when no product key is imputed during installation and cannot be activated. In order to activate, you'll need to purchase a Full Retail Windows 7 Ultimate license and then update the Windows product key.

In addition to Carey's comments, your system will not activate because of file corruption
