onecare Safety scanner - long run time - conflict?

  HELP windows live onecare saftey scanner for vista has been running for 9 hours and only completed 4
  % of the scan. Ive got trendmicro antivirus running. and turned windows defender off. should i turn off the trendmicro? will that remove a conflict thats making the onecare scanner run slow? if trendmicro is off does that mean  the system is vulnerable?
