Windows 7 Build 7600 Not Genuine

Question
-
A couple of days ago, I did a Windows update on my Win 7 machine and suddenly I'm getting the dreaded not genuine error. I have a retail upgrade copy of the Win 7 Home Premium that I bought when Win 7 was first officially released and it activated fine back then. Now I can't get it to (re-)activate when trying to fix this new error.
Any ideas on how to fix this? The only activate option I get is "Go Online and Resolve Now".
Thanks!
Carlos

Okay. After a reboot with the correct key showing in the diag, Win 7 activated successfully. I'm all set.

This is a bit odd. I was able to get into the Activate by Phone screen and went through that process, but the activation also failed. What it odd is that it changed my Product key and my Product ID now (which happens to match my Win 7 Product Key on the label now). I have no idea where that old key shown in the Diagnostic above came from. It doesn;t match my original XP key, nor does it match my Vista key and it definately didn't match my Win 7 key.
Anyway, I've run a new diag to show the updated information, but I still cannot make Win 7 genuine again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Carlos

The key in the first report was an MSDN key, It appears that the second key you installed may not have validated until after your reboot. You should submit a new report now after the reboot so we can see if the new key is activated or in the grace period.Monday, September 6, 2010 2:07 PM
