  • Resubscribed about 2 weeks ago, but the PC for which that subscription was placed has been replaced with a new PC. Now I am getting an URGENT notice that my subscription will expire in 11 days and I need to subscrib now. Please send me a simple solution to this problem! I don't want to jump thru a bunch of Windows hoops to get this straightened out! E-mail address: hcwsew@comcast.net

  • When you installed on the new PC, did you activate OneCare? You need to activate with the same LiveID that was used to activate and renew on the first PC. It sounds like you are either in trial mode or you are getting a false expiration warning.

Since it says you need to subscribe, I think you mean that the *trial* is about to expire in 11 days since you installed OneCare within the last week using a CD, which gives you 15 days to activate with your LiveID.

If you have an active subscription, which is what was created when you activated on the first computer, you need to use the same LiveID on the subsequent activations. If you don't recall the LiveID you used for your subscription, you will need to contact support who can provide that information to you using your Key and/or contact information.

Alternatively, sign in at http://billing.microsoft.com with email addresses that you have set up as LiveIDs and one will show your subscription listed - that would the LiveID to use to activate the reinstall.

If you activated OneCare with your LiveID and it shows that you are subscribed, but the subscription is about to expire,

    • Check your PC date and time.
    • Check your subscription status by logging in with your subscription LiveID at http://billing.microsoft.com
    • Confirm that this is the same LiveID shown to be the Subscription ID in OneCare - Help/About...

If your subscription is correctly shown at the Billing site, but incorrect in OneCare and your PC date and time are correct, please contact support.
