Corrupt or Missing-HAL.DLL |+| BartPE. Will it work? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey guys, thanks for actually taking the time to read this and maybe help me.

Well heres my problem, i've had a problem on my computer for about...
    ehh a month i say.

    Ive been getting the error:

    Hal.dll is missing or corrupt
please re-install (or something like that)

Ive been talking to my uncle who works at a computer hotline fix thing.
(im sorry im only a young age Surprise) Anyway, we started off at an error with ntldr, then it went to some CODE PURPLE error.
    then it fell to Hal.Dll.

We've tried EVERYTHING! Bunches of methods found on microsoft, and others.

Then he introduced me to a program called BartPE.
    Dont know what it is?
    www.google.com
     Any bartpe, (Bart's Preinstalled Enviroment)
It allows you to access bassicaly enter WindowsXP...with limited resources.
It allows access even if your computers *fraggleblasteredmegaowned* up.
I started burning disks of my harddrive from BartPE's DEEPBURNER program.
    Sadly it didnt work.

Then one night i was lying in bed, then i just snapped an idea.
    I have 2 cd-drives on my computer 1:Cd Writter/Burner and 2:Cd-rom.
I insert my BartPE cd in drive 1 (it works trust me), and insert a cd-rom with hal.dll in it!!!
Copy hal.dll into the specified in the correct place in the hard drive.

Well i have a question : Where to put it?
    will it work?
    and
Are you sure it will work? xD.
thanks for reading through all this.

    sincerely,
    Kyo.
