New PC with no software CD provided RRS feed

  • Question

  • I bought a new Sony PC but did not receive a MS Vista CD with the laptop.  Now the PC is asking to covert to full product from trial version which expires.  The product key information that came with the laptop comes back as incorrect.  I bought it from Best Buy and had the Geek Squad check it out.  How can I correct this MS software issue?

  • Apparently, you had a trial version of Microsoft Office 2007 installed.  You'll need to purchase a license for Microsoft Office in order to continue the use of the program.

  • Hello Paul,

To add to Carey's post, are you being asked to convert Windows Vista from a trial version or is Office asking you this?  If this is Office then please refer to Carey's advice.  Regarding your question about the missing CD, you will need to contact Sony directly as they are the company whom should of provided you this CD with your computer.
