Microsoft Office Genuine Advantage actiation Error. RRS feed

  • Question

  • After the last microsoft update (02/03/10) I started getting the following pop-up dialog error every time I start Outlook in Microsoft Office 2002 (10.2838.6835) SP3.  "Microsoft Office Genuine Advantage" (title) "Please excuse this interruption. Micrtosoft Office must be activated before validation can determine that Office is genuine."  This is on a windows XP machine (dell) that has had office installed and sucessfully been running office for over three years.  When I go into office and try to activate it it tells me it's active.  I ran the diagnostic and the results are below:

  • Hello interogativ ,

When a longtime activated installation of Office XP or 2003 suddenly can't seem to make up its mind if it is activated or not, this is an indication that the Office license file may be damaged or corrupted.

For resolution, please work thru the Methods in this MS KB article:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/903275

Most people tell us that running the MS FixIt in Method 2 takes care of the problem.

    Thank you,
    Darin MS
