Windows Vista 6002 This copy of Windows is not genuine

Question
-
I bought this computer about 3 years ago, and it had Vista pre-installed. I've never had a problem up until now when I recently updated my software and now I have a message on the bottom of my desktop saying this copy of Windows is not genuine. Apart from this annoying little message there doesn't seem to be anything different about my system, i.e I can use it all as normal, same as before the update.
I downloaded the diagnostics tool and ran it and it says my validation is genuine....so I'm confused.
Here's my report

There doesn’t appear to be anything wrong with our report except the cached validation error.please go to www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate – tell us what happens. If it passes, you’ll be offered NSE and IE9 – you don’t need to take them.If it fails, run another MGADiag report and post it back here.

I got offered the security package and IE9 so I presume it passed the validation.
I still have the message on my desktop though....
