I want to teach myself Windows Server 2008... I having very basic computer skills RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello. I want to teach myself Windows Server 2008. I do not work with computers at all. I just want to learn a new skill.. Examinations are irrelevant at this point in time.

Can someone recommend a good book without errors to use to learn? Or videos that will show me how to set this up step by step.. I need labs.

I would like to set something up at home.. I have a laptop and desktop.. They are not capable of running vmware software, as no virtual chip.

  • Since all of the Server 2008 exams are based on Server 2008 R2, you'll need either a desktop or laptop with a 64bit processor in them.  If your current computers don't have this, your SOL.  You'll need to get one that does.

As as to books, the MS Press books are currently being rewritten to include information on R2.  I believe the Trainsignal and TestOut videos already include information on R2.
