I bought my laptop with Vista pre-installed... and now (after about 5 months of ownership), I have reduced functionality and my copy of Windows "is not genuine." What do I do?

I would recommend going to www.microsoft.com/genuinesupport for this specific issue. The servicerequest agents will be able to better troubleshoot your issue (as it requires gathering some more detailed computer information) and is out of the scope of what we're capable of the forum.I definitely don't want to make it seem like we're "passing you off" but this is definitely the next step.

What is the error number (should be in a light gray color on the bottom corner) when you go to www.microsoft.com/genuine and press Validate Windows?Wednesday, July 25, 2007 9:57 PM
