  • Hello Nick,

I take the Beta Exam 77-886 related to Sharepoint 2010 User level last saturday, and I prepared with the following book:

Microsoft SharePoint 2010 End User Guide: Business Performance Enhancement

For more information about the book please visit this link:

    http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-SharePoint-2010-User-Guide/dp/1849680663

Also I would recommend to you to practice on a SharePoint 2010 environment, if you don't have that option, you can try with Sharepoint Foundation 2010, it's free, I used it and even that don't have all the options of the SharePoint 2010 Server Edition, it's very good starting point, also you can install it on a Windows 7 x64 machine.

You can find more information about SharePoint Foundation 2010 and all SharePoint 2010 Editions on the book mentioned above, and for the installation on a Windows 7 x64 machine please review the following link:

Setting Up the Development Environment for SharePoint 2010 on Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee554869%28office.14%29.aspx

You can download Sharepoint Foundation 2010 from the following address:

    Microsoft Sharepoint Foundation 2010

Please let me know if you more information.

  • Hi Jorge,

I also did this exam. Did you get the certification?

At Certiport website, my status of the exam is "Not Available" and my grade was 747.

Do you also have this status? What was your grade?

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Pedro,

The results of the beta exam are not official until the final exam is released, for SharePoint 2010 exam the release date is this June 30th, so in the while Microsoft will improve the exam, taking out some parts that could be much difficult or the contrary :-), so until that date we are not 100% sure if we approve it or not so that's why the status is Not Available.

About my grade it was 540, for my first approach to SharePoint I think its OK (I never used it before), when the SharePoint 2010 Exam final release will be available I'm considering to taking exam again in the while I'll prepare better.

I understand that 700 is the minimum note for approval, so I think you almost got the certification, congratulations!!!!.

BTW if you approve a Beta Exam you don't need to take again the Release Exam you got directly the certification.
