My Office is Not Legal. -- I don't think so.. RRS feed

  • Question

  • As a college professor, I bought this Dell laptop with Office installed. I've received updates from Microsoft based on its online analysis that the software was legal. Now I get a notice that it's not. It's almost like one of the updates caused the problem.  Microsoft seems to be running a huge scam to try to get people to buy their software again. I'm not going to do that. You should contact Dell, but please leave me alone. Do not interfere with my use of my legal software. You are acting as judge and jury without any proof.

DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ON MY COMPUTER. IT IS MY COMPUTER NOT YOUR COMPUTER. DO YOU GET THAT. I HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING ILLEGAL.

  • I purchased my copy of Office either from Microsoft online or PC World (I forget) but have previoulsly validated it with no problem, but now I have the same problem: Out of interest other people are reporting the same problem. Last person I spoke with also purchased their copy of Office via Dell.

  • Hello David Blench,

There will be no such new update, as no update caused your Office to report as nongenuine.
