Data Encryption Key is Blank RRS feed

  • I have successfully deployed CRM 2013 using IFD, however I receive an error when trying to approve a user's email address because the data encryption feature is not active on the server. According to the Deployment Guide, selecting Settings | Data Management | Data Encryption will open a dialog to activate encryption. However, I cannot activate it because the Current Encryption Key field is blank in the dialog window.

    The Deployment Guide provides a workaround by setting the DisableSSLCheckForEncryption column to '1' in the DeploymentProperties table of the MSCRM_CONFIG db. I have changed this value but nothing has changed - the same error still occurs.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Fortunately I have another Org in the same deployment and data encryption is working fine. So I copied that Org's key and used it for the Org that is missing the key and it seems to work fine now. Strange...
