Mesh Startup Issues RRS feed

  • Question

  • Mesh is potentially a great product, but is there any plan to make automatic start a configurable option?  I have had massive problems first on Vista and then Windows 7 until I found out how to remove Mesh from msconfig.  It seems to conflict with something else on the machines - possibly Norton 360 - and resulted in disk thrashing for 10 minutes after boot that made the systems unusable.  The more data I put on there the worse it got.  Now that I start Mesh manually on both I have no problems.  However I have never succeeded in getting it working properly on a couple of XP machines because my skills don't extend to the more complex method of stopping automatic startup.  (Or rather I'm scared to try - I don't want to mess with the registry).

  • You should be able to disable auto start using msconfig in XP as well.

  • I recommend filing a suggestion or voting on someone else's as I suspect that this has been filed already as a request.
