How do I revert back to IE6 sp2 after uninstalling IE7 sp3? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I installed IE7 and sp3 to upgrade my pc. The sp3 was reaking havoc on my prior graphic design applications so I had to uninstall IE7 and sp3. After I uninstalled them, I assumed that my browser would automatically just revert back to what the IE6 sp2 that I had. It did not. I have Firefox browser installed also otherwise I wouldn't be able to visit a site. Now when I type a website address into the IE6 browser address bar, the website opens in Firefox instead and then it leaves a blank page open for IE6. How do I fix this?

  • the first thing to do i sgo to the microsoft sit eand type in ie6
when it gets to the page lookfor the ie6.10 version after running this reboot then try it the reasonthat firefox loads up when typing a site is that you ahve firsfox set as default browser, fix this by  opening firfox click on tools then internet options, thien inthe gen tab uncheck make firfox default then this should fix that error

another issue is that inthe c/windows folder is a file athte topof the list thats blue and has a dollar sign and uninstaller on it delete thsi fiel to get rid of the rest of the sp3 garbage since you already threw the service pack of fthe machine
fater deleting this empty the recycle bin then run a system defrag to clean up any open spots othe hard dirv ethe uninstaller files are huge
