Explain? Couldn't find the option in Vista Ultimate or on msn or on msdn. This product lacks maturity and interfears. Right now, Spybot and AdAware do a far better job. This piece of ... is occupyng MY diskspace....
I've had it with this.
btw I stopped the service, ok? (And those products I mentioned weren't running on my Vista machine until then) But still, how to get rid of it? {edit] Follow up: Hoe do you explain this: (I can have made a mistake) : On A clean Vista machine I blocked every program but defender to access the internet. Then I setup a proxy to catch the traffic on my net work, then I disabled the service.. Guess what happens. Please confirm similar or explain what can be the cause. If it weren't so infringing it might look like a scene from batteries not included and it is definitely illegal.
I don't really understand your post except the part about wanting to uninstall Defender from Vista. You can't uninstall Defender from Vista but you can, as you have discovered, stop the service.
