CRM 2011 - does heavy contact entity can cause performance issues RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have around 300 fields on custom entity and possibly business will ask us to add more in future as well.

If we keep all the custom fields on Contact Entity, does it affect the the performance while making a service call to Create/Update/Retrieve?

    Thanks in Advance

  • This shouldn't make any significant difference. Create and Updates will only send the fields that are being changed, and a retrieve generally will only request specific fields

  • OOB contact entity already has 150 fields. Few year back I created a custom entity with around 600 fields in CRM 4.0. I have not received any complaint from users about the performance.
