CRM 4 and SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services Upgrade Best Practice RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are running CRM 4.0 with Rollup 10 and will be upgrading from SQL Server 2008's Reporting Services to SQL Server 2008 R2's Reporting Services.  CRM has a special data connector used in reporting that will need to be included in the upgrade. The SQL Upgrade Advisor says that although the upgrade can continue you must move the data processing extension assemblies to the new installation folder.  So is the Advisor correct?  Is this best way to handle the CRM data connector upgrade?  Thx!

  • Hi Ray,

Upgrade sql to sql 2008 R2, then re-install the srs data connector and re-apply srs data connector ur 10.

    1. Uninstalled srsdataconnector
    2. Ran upgrade SQL 2008 R2 for Reporting Services
    3. Reinstalled srsdataconnector
    4. Re-applied Rollup 10
