The Product Key does not contain the letter O – or the number 0 – you were attempting to insert a Product ID.
The Key is on your COA sticker on the case.

Your problem is that the Licensing Service is reporting an invalid license – which probably means that your Licensing store is corrupted.
Please try the below steps to recreate the Store with the correct data.

    1) Open an Internet Browser window.
    2) Type: %windir%\system32 into the browser address bar.
    3) Find the file CMD.exe
    4) Right-Click on CMD.exe and select 'Run as Administrator'
    5) Type: net stop slsvc (it may ask you if you are sure, select yes)
    6) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareLicensing
    7) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar
    8) Type: cd %windir%\system32
    9) Type: net start slsvc
    10) Type: cscript slmgr.vbs -rilc (It may take a long time for this to complete, please be patient)
    11) Restart your computer twice.
You may be asked to enter your COA Key and/or Activate.
Once complete, run another MGADiag report and post back with the results

Please reboot, then post a new MGADiag report – it looks like you missed a set of instructions out.

Your copy of Office is also most likely non-genuine :(
...and it does look like you missed out a couple of the instructions (not that that matters too much)

EITHER try the complete set of instructions again,
    OR
Change the Product Key using the Change Product Key link at the bottom of the System Properties page, and then if necessary activate by phone.

  • Thanks and I finally got it working now.

The license I have is genuine since I bought the machine(Compaq) new from Office Depot few years back and the license has been working until recently.  The COA on the side of the box looks pretty real to me - not sure why the MGADiag report indicates otherwise.

Anyway, I reboot the machine and re-tried the instruction then rebooted 3 times (1st reboot says its not genuine and 2nd reboot ask me to put in the Product Key).  It's working now.

Thanks for helping and I will suggest to others to reboot your machine first before you try the instruction.

Thanks for the feedback on that!

Glad it seems to be all working OK now – but please post a new MGADiag report so that we can check it.

    Good Luck, either way:)

Lookin’ good – there’s one error still remaining, which should disappear if you validate at www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate  (when it passes, you’ll be offered MSE and IE9 – you don’t need to take them)
