Remote access broken after PP1 RRS feed

  • Question

  •

HP Ex470 - remote access/web worked fine - did nto have to do any manual configurations.

Installed PP1 and the HP updates and now cannot get web access to work.

    Reports:

    Green check - verifying UPnP

Green check - Verifying web site is available

Red - verifying that Remote Access is available on your home server.

    Have tried the following:

Router is D-Link WBR-2310 - have tried reseting router.

    Restarted Server

    Manually configured port forwarding.

    All with no result.

Suggestions - rather not have to reinstall system as suggested in the online help.

  • That helped - I had to re-configure the tzo - switch from hpathome.net to something else and then back again.

Only problem now is I am getting a certificate error.

Have you checked the IP address of your server to see if it's still the same as before?

  • If you're using a TZO domain with an HP MediaSmart Server, you need to obtain a certificate yourself. The certificate that Microsoft provides is only for the homeserver.com domain.

MyHomeServer.com has a tutorial on getting a certificate for a TZO custom domain on your HP MediaSmart Server. Disclaimer: I haven't done this (I find that xxxx.homeserver.com works just fine for me) so I can't speak to the accuracy. I have read through it and it accords with what I would do if I wanted a custom domain and certificate...
