Incomaptible softwarepreventing validation RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am receiving the following message when attempting to validate my copy of Windows Vista Business:

This copy of Windows did not pass genuine validation. Either an unauthorized change was made to Windows files or a software program installed on this computer is not currently compatible with Windows Vista.

Access to the latest updates, all available features, and product support is reserved for customers running genuine Microsoft software. Until this copy of Windows passes genuine validation, certain features of Windows Vista may be disabled.

I purchased my copy of Vista from the University at which I work under a Volume Licensing agreement.  I have very litte currently installed on it, and would like assistance determining which software is causing the problem.

  • Try to boot with your Vista DVD and do a rollback, i have got the same problem and I would say this comes from an ms update.

I did the rollback an Saturday and this morning the same procedure started.  This happened two times now after installing updates. Tonight I will write down which updates causes the problem.
