Ringtones for my Pantech Duo

  I have music in my documents folder but they will not show up under sounds menu, which is where to set the ringtones. How do I set the song I want as a ringtone and how do I get it in my sounds folder. It is in my documents and under my ringtones and in my storage card folder but I cannot find any settings to set as ringtones and there are only a few in my sounds folder which is the only place I have found to use ringtones.
