KB3004394: Genuine warning still present after both uninstalled manually and ran KB3024777 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello all,

I think, I performed a sort of unique flow when trying to fix the WGA problems caused by KB3004394.

    • I arrived at the user's computer
    • used slmgr.vbs to attach the MAK
    • used slmgr.vbs to activate online
    • rebooted
    • verified activation is good (via slmgr.vbs -xpr and system properties)
    • still getting Windows isn't genuine notification
    • uninstalled bad KB 3004394 using good KB 3024777
    • rebooted
    • verified activation is good
    • still getting Windows isn't genuine notification
    • rebooted again
    • verified activation is good
    • still getting Windows isn't genuine notification

At this point, I'm dumbfounded as to what to do to solve this issue.

    Does anyone have further ideas?

For reference, here is the output from MGAdiag.exe: http://pastebin.com/fHgzXt1L

    Thanks,

    Matt

  • Hi, since KB3004394, we basicaly went throught a similar process and did not resolve the situation either. So I wanna follow this.

We tried calling Lenovo and they asked us to reload with a recovery disk ... not gonna happen!
