Question
-
Hi!I have recently installed Windows Live one care and instantly after installing I am not able to send or receive any mails from Windows mail because the Windows Live one care blocks its ports. I have tried adding the program to the selected list of software allowed to use the internet but still its not working. Also I have tried to open ports but it still its not working . Can any one please help.Sunday, April 19, 2009 7:54 AM

One Care should allow Windows Mail automatically. This could be caused by having other security products installed or having other security products which did not uninstall completely.

Jim is correct, so you might need to uninstall and run the cleanup tool for your previous antivirus software, if you haven’t already done so. You can turn off the OneCare firewall temporarily to see if that’s really the problem. I can’t find a full explanation for it, but this problem can also be caused by OneCare according to this source: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistaprograms/thread/b1d1e45f-ac9d-4bed-9f6a-5a1f4af3ef86/
If the issue persists you can contact OneCare Support for assistance: http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/onecareinstallandactivate/thread/30400b52-7f26-4ba0-bc18-17e305329d90
