I recently removed the trojan Alureon, but have lost all my programs from the start panel. They seem to still be installed, and I would like to know how to get them to their previous state, including my system tools!!

If microsoft chooses to dump XP users, then is there an alternative for us happy XP & live sync users? Upgrading to Vista or System 7 is not an option.
