I have several computers in some networks. For example, A and B are in the same sub-network with a Internet connection, C and D are in another sub-network with load-balanced multiple Internet connections.
When C needs some file which are contained by A, B and D, there should be a way to tell the Mesh that C and D are in the same sub-network, although the public IP address of C and D are different.
And more, we need another way to modify the path cost between each client, to tell the mesh what is the best way to fetch files.
Oh, and it is my understanding that Windows Live Mesh *will* determine the best path between PCs for sync, but all of them will still need to be signed into the service. Data between devices on the same subnet will traverse P2P without heading out of the
subnet other than log-in. Now, how WLMesh determines which pairs are the optimal for transfer of data when the devices in the Mesh are outside of the local subnet vs. being local, I don't know. I suspect that there may well be cases when 2 PCs on the same
subnet are not updating locally, but are getting their updated information from a device outside of the subnet or the cloud.
