[Windows 7] windows 7 seagate external har disk problem RRS feed

    my newly installed windows 7*32 OS causes problems working with seagate external drives. when i try to copy or cut&paste any kind of files in any sizes the copy progress stops and freezes explorer. i checked the external drives on many other computers and they seem to be working. i use different kind of externals on pc and they also seem to be working. i assume the problem is specificly about seagate products but couldn't find any info over their troubleshooting table.

    Dear customer,

    For the resolution for the problem you've mentioned; We recommend you to disable the antivirus and then go to Start>All programs>Accessories>Comand Prompt + "?: = seagete external disk drive name" ?: chkdsk /f before windows update " Start>Control Panel>Windows Update
