Activation time went from 30 days to 0 days in less than one day

Two days ago, I received an invite for WHS Beta 2.
I installed the server from DVD yesterday and have been migrating some data to it and backing up my machines, without any noteworthy problems.
Last night, I decided to add additional storage by basically removing the DVD and adding two parallel ATA drives (this is an unfortunate limitation of the motherboard I have). WHS was able to initialize the drives fine, and I am using them already. However, I think a side effect of doing this was to somehow reset the Windows Activation counter? I noticed the "0 days until Activation required" notice in the system tray yesterday after the required reboot when the two added drives were initialized. I thought it may have been a glitch.
This morning when I backed up my laptop for the first time, on the WHS Connector Console, I got a "Critical" message. The reason: I had 0 days to activate windows. While it did not seem to alter or restrict functionality as far as I could tell, it was somewhat alarming. I went to activate my Beta through the WHS Console, and after the first time not being able to reach the network, it proceeded.
The docs, at least for the Beta, recommend that you do not activate right away, as you can only get a certain, small number of keys during the beta period. Was this activation glitch by design I wonder or a small, unintended issue?
Anyone else encounter this "forced activation" with the Beta 2?

Thanks. Thanks for the pointer to the Issue entry.
I am kinda new to Microsoft Betas. Is there a way from the forums interface I can also search the Bug database before I post a thread?
I personally like having things mentioned in the normal forums too (non-dupe to other forum entries -- I try to check for that) as breadcrumbs for maybe other people encountering similar problems...

There currently is not a feature to do that. One suggestion is with IE 7 keep a tab with the forums open, and a tab with Connect up.Saturday, March 3, 2007 6:10 PMModerator

I had this issue today, too. I intentionally did NOT activate my second key because I was testing other issues. Today, I connected to the system and the network health was "critical" due to having zero days left to activate. I just installed the system two days ago. So, obviously, there is a problem. :)Friday, March 9, 2007 11:32 PM

I had a similar issue today. It sounds a little different since I was unable to activate the key I had installed with. Activation time was down to 24 days on this install and I had intentionally not activated it since I thought I might need to rebuild. Overnight the days remaining went to 0 and when I tried to activate, activation failed claiming the key had already been used.
I grabbed a new key (my third) off connect and was able to activate. What a pain!
