Echo NOT deleting files on Right RRS feed

  • Question

  • I dump songs off of my iPod onto my local C: into a folder called "iPod Backup". Then I use synctoy 2.0 version 2.0.100.0 to sync them with a folder called "iPod Backup" on my external backup drive.

Here is my problem: I am constantly adding and deleting songs on/off my iPod, so once a month I use iDump to copy the music off of my iPod onto my local C:. I always delete the old "iPod Backup" folder prior to copying the songs off the iPod. When I user Synctoy to sync them with my exeternal drive, the external drive always picks up the additions but never the deletions. I am using Echo.

    HI buccanoles,

    sorry to correct this reply:

It may due to a known issue on ECHO scenario, Synctoy team will fix it in the next build.

  • Synctoy team will release a QFE build on synctoy 2.0 and fixed some conflict issues on ECHO scenario. it may be can solve your problem.

please often come to here and take a look in the next few days.

Is there any news on this update?  The response was posted on 7 May and implied that it would be available in a few days, but it's still to be released.

    Thanks

  • Hi -

We have fixed the issue for our next release and we definitely want you to try it out. Unfortunately we currently do not have public plans on when we plan on releasing the version of SyncToy so you are going to have to keep an eye out for it.

    Thanks

  • I wanted to jump in here and also add some clarification on top of what Deepa has stated.  Our next release of SyncToy will be based on Sync Framework v2.  Based on the EULA (End User Licesnse Agreement) of Sync Framework, we are not able to release an official public technology based on the existing CTP's (Community Technology Previews) that are currently available for Sync Framework v2.  As such, you will not see the next version of SyncToy released until after Sync Framework v2 has been released (which is not scheduled until later in this calendar year) and as Deepa mentioned above we have not yet announced an official release date for the next version of SyncToy.

I would like to appologize for any confusion on any of this.

  • Hi Liam!

I suggest that you make a post like this a "sticky" in this forum so that more people get to see it.  I didn't see it until now because I only visit the forum occasionally to see if there is a new version, and so having seen Deepa's answer, didn't check back any further.

There seem to be a lot of very frustrated SyncToy users out there, all wondering when the new version will be available, so something like this would might help people to understand what is going on.
