Is there any way to prevent this? Is the source available so I can fix it? Right now it doesn't even report the file that caused the problem so I can't adjust the file.

Look at File->View log to see if it logs the problem file. If you only have a handful of such files, you can fix the time in explorer.

It doesn't log the filename - if it did it would be fixable......
