I have been successfully developing applications in Microsoft Access 2013, which I love, but have been told by my employer that I need to move on from it. I even moved my backend tables into Azure SQL Server, and just offered Access as a front end. Then,
I got a Power BI account, and did almost all of my reporting there, which they like, but the answer is the same regarding the app: no more Access!
What platform is the closest thing to the awesome drag-and-drop environment of Access? I am willing to learn a little more coding, but I really got used to the "rapid application development" environment of Access 2013, and I wish I could find
something like it.
I read some interesting things about Lightswitch running in VisualStudio, but many users have warned that MS is no longer supporting it, and people are therefore abandoning projects on this platform.
So far, I like the concept of Azure Web App + SQL Database, but I don't really know where to go from there in terms of developing an app.
If someone could give me some advice to research, I would really appreciate it. Or just point me to the right forum to ask my question.
