question about driver signature submission RRS feed

  • Pergunta

  • Dears,

would you please help answer below questions, thanks!

    1. I have 4 common drivers for x86 platform and another 4 common drivers for x64 platform. I got driver signature from MS using wlk1.5 for xp/vista/win7 platforms at 2010/02/04.

Now my 4 drivers on x86 platform are changed but those 4 drivers on x64 platform are not changed.

Can I just run DTM test on x86 platforms and get the result, and submit them with previous x64 result?

If I do not need to re-run x64 testing, what about the driver version and date in x64 driver inf file as below, can I just keep it as before?

    DriverVer   = 02/01/2010, #version

    2. If I already get CPK file in vista & windows7 32bit & 64bit environment, do I need to run the Run INF test to get the XP signature?

    Please advise me, thanks!

  • 1, Yes。 You can do it.

    2. You don't need to run any XP test if you have Vista or Windows 7 test result. You can select support Windows XP option when submitting your vista and/or Win7 test result to obtain driver signature for XP.

  • Thanks duoduobear,

I have a further question,  in my previous x64 .cpk files, there are some passed test items applying Errata like below:

    Errata 7
Filter driver INF files are not loaded correctly on the target system. As a result, inftest will always fail on these drivers, blocking submission. This filters out the load failure.

It has "Expiration Date" and is showed in the report as below:

This filter expires on 08/09/2010. After that date, this filter will no longer apply and the test must pass without this filter applied. For Errata filters, WHQL reserves the right to change this date without notice.
Since the errata expires on 08/09/2010, I am wondering whether this cpk file still could be used now? What do you think of it?
    Thanks for your reply!!!

  • Good question.

According WHQL test requirement, you must re-test in case this situation.
