Threads deleted with no warning RRS feed

  • Pergunta

  • Hi,

I submitted yesterday a new question in sharepoint 2010 develoment forum that has disappeared today. I had no warning or information email about the reason of the deletion and it happenned several times on other threads.

I am very new to asp .Net and SharePoint developments and I am the only one working on these technologies in my company so this forum is my only help when there is no solution on the web. The new SharePoint projects obtained by my company are strategic and they are directly suffering from these problems. I am very disappointed of the quality of this forums. It is far away of the image claimed by Microsoft on their products.

    Best regards

    Ala

  • Hi Zino !

    I can see your question in your activity tab but unfortunately it has been deleted by the Moderator of that particular forum. There might be several reason to it;

1 ) Thread doesn't comply to Microsoft policy.

    2) Might be a spam or advertise.

    3) Contains something abusive.

Please let me know if this doesn’t work for you. Hope I have answered you correctly.

    Thanks, Hasham

  • I am not an advertiser, just a developper.

My question was a technical question about a web part development. It had nothing abusive or offensive. Just a technical question.

It is not serious to not been informed of the reason of the deletion.  Really not serious.

Reason would be visible to other Moderators / Administrators, since i am not a Moderator there i can't tell you now why they have deleted it. But surely they have already mentioned some reason for doing it.

    Thanks, Hasham

  • Yes, my remark is that it would be interesting for a forum user like me to know why the thread was deleled. In other way, it is a waste of time for me and Moderators / Administrators.

    Thanks, Hasham

  • I've just had the exact same issue - I took time to carefully write out my question and it was deleted within about 2 minutes.  No contact, no advice, nothing. It was a technical question, in no way abusive or rude and complies with all your policies on the forum. Please advise

  • Zino: Is it possible that you posted in the wrong forum? Your original post said you had posted in the SharePoint 2010 Development Forum, but the post that Hasham shows in your profile is in the pre-2010 forum. Even if that is the case, I wouldn't have expected the post to be deleted with no explanation.

  • The moderator in this forum should find out what happened and undelete these threads (and perhaps move to the right forum, if needed).

  • Mike Walsh deleted it with a note it was offtopic because it was a 2010 question posted to a pre-2010 forum. I undeleted it and moved it to  http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointdevelopment/threads  New URL is http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepoint2010customization/thread/e3741342-2d10-44b6-a15f-ee5c22e918c2#e3741342-2d10-44b6-a15f-ee5c22e918c2

Good luck and no, I don't know why he decided to delete a thread instead of just moving it to the right place, that isn't what I would have done.
