programs always querying "Disable Performance Counters " when running on server 2008 sp1 build 7601 RRS feed

  • Hi,

    when I running a program on windows server 2008 build 7601, It do not exit sometimes , but program running well on windows7 , but on server 2008 sometimes it always querying the registry for HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\PERFLIB\Disable Performance Counters(this step will last more than 15min before been killed).

    program is developed using  VS 2008 .

    Does anyone have some experience on this.

     there is no program designer any more , just maintance now(dev left company about 3 years ago).

    this program uses dotnet, ATL,OLE, compiled by VS2008, It does not do anything with performance counter. It is just used to run a script. Using process monitor from microsoft, I found When the script is done , the program is also querying the registry  ..

    I also refer to the stack, the query registry action is initialed by MS VC runtime dll,this confused me very much . I also searched in the source code , no "performance" characters at all.
